Rise and Shine! We got up and headed out to our church service, and yes, it was roughly 3 1/2- 4 hours. It was AMAZING! When Americans come to that church they generally just want to hear our songs and testimonies. Today though, we got to hear them preach and sing. It was great! God showed us their hearts, and God without a doubt showed up in that church today. We were blessed to be there this Sunday. Today was the Sunday that they had the Lord's Supper. Out of all of my time here in Romania, I have never had this opportunity until today. To start it out they asked everyone to kneel throughout the whole thing. It was a prayer service just between yourself and God. They would pass the bread around to represent Jesus' body being broken. They then passed around a cup to represent Jesus' blood being poured out. After we had the Lord's supper they set up a time for washing each other's feet as Christ did for His disciples. This was different, but very neat and a true act of worship. I'm not a foot person by any means, but something hits you when you are down on your knees washing someone else's feet and you think about Jesus doing this as well. This gave me a new perspective on being servant-like. I wouldn't take it back for anything. After church we went on a prayer drive/walk. We went to different villages to pray over them. We went to one specific village that Daniel has not had the opportunity to work in yet. The plans are for him to start going into this village in the upcoming weeks. The next part of our evening was spent dividing into our teams or "families" for the next week. We assigned jobs and mapped out our plan for the week. I have the best group, so I am very excited!! :) After that time with our family we went to the roof for worship. I don't know if it was just my mind was clear and happy or what, but it was the most beautiful I have ever seen it from the roof. It was amazing! You could see everything in the city and the mountains as far as your eye could see. God's creation is beautiful!Here is my next favorite part of the day. We did what was called the prayer experience. There were seven different stations. At each station we would read a verse and do an activity that pertained to that verse then have a special prayer about something. Talk about some amazing Jesus talking time! That was an amazing and heart changing experience. We got to do several things pertaining to verses that we had read. One was write an encouraging word to someone. Also, to write how you could mend or serve someone back home. Next, we had communion. During this communion though we had to serve it to each other and pray with them. Next, we had to draw a picture of a scar. It talked about how when you are broken but then healed that sometimes that area is actually stonger. Basically it was for God to heal you and make you stronger than you had ever been. We then wrote out a prayer and taped it to a map for a lost nation. We then had to write that hope we are thankful for. We had to draw symbols of committments in our lives to God and others. Then, lastly, we had to build a house out of cards. This was about us building our own lives and asking God for approval rather than us just living in Him and actually seeking out His will. It was really a great experience, and I know we all got a lot out of it! Thanks again for your prayers and encouragement! Tomorrow morning we will start another week of VBS and youth rallies for the Roma/gypsy people. Be in prayer for them!!! Peace and love
